Role Summary
The IFS Service & Maintenance Consultant is responsible for delivering high-quality functional expertise in the design, configuration, implementation, and support of the Service & Maintenance modules within IFS Cloud or IFS Applications. The role works closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to ensure that service operations, maintenance strategies, and asset management processes are optimally supported by the IFS solution.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Functional Consulting

Lead workshops to gather business requirements related to service management, maintenance processes, asset structures, and resource scheduling.

Translate operational needs into scalable IFS solutions aligned with industry and platform best practices.

Design and configure IFS modules such as Work Order Management, Preventive Maintenance, Service Contracts, Equipment/Asset Management, and Service Logistics.
IFS Implementation & Deployment

Execute full-lifecycle project activities including requirement analysis, configuration, testing, data migration support, training, and go-live.

Collaborate with technical teams to support integrations with FSM, PSO, inventory systems, finance, IoT, or third-party service tools.

Ensure alignment with IFS standard functionality while minimizing customizations.
Support, Troubleshooting & Optimization

Provide post-implementation support, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.

Conduct system health checks and recommend improvements to enhance performance and user experience.

Support clients in adopting new IFS features and planning future upgrades.
Documentation & Training

Produce functional design documents (FDD), test scripts, training materials, and configuration workbooks.

Train key users and support change management activities.

Maintain accurate documentation for solution governance and audit compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
Functional Expertise

Strong hands-on experience with IFS Service & Maintenance modules, including:

Preventive/Corrective Maintenance
-
Work Order Lifecycle
-
Asset/Equipment Management
-
Service Contracts & Warranty Handling
-
Service Logistics (parts, depot repair, returns)
-
Scheduling & Optimization (PSO/FSM a plus)

Technical Knowledge
-
Familiarity with IFS Projections, Lobbies, and data migration tools (Data Migration, Import/Export).

Understanding of integration concepts (REST/SOAP APIs).

Basic SQL skills for analysis and troubleshooting.
Professional Experience
-
3–7+ years in IFS functional consulting with a focus on Service & Maintenance.

Experience delivering at least one end-to-end IFS implementation.
-
Background in asset-intensive industries (manufacturing, utilities, field service, aerospace, facilities management) preferred.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

IFS Certifications (Service & Maintenance, FSM, or PSO) preferred.

Project management experience or ITIL certification beneficial.
