ERP System Manager

Overview

The ERP System Manager will oversee the operation, optimisation, and strategic development of the organisation’s ERP platform. Working within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment, the role ensures that the ERP system supports production efficiency, supply chain performance, quality management, and financial accuracy. The post holder will be responsible for system governance, process alignment, user support, and managing changes that enhance business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day performance and stability of the ERP system

  • Lead system upgrades, module deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Work with production, supply chain, engineering, quality, and finance teams to ensure system processes reflect operational needs

  • Maintain data integrity and oversee master data standards across all business functions

  • Manage user access, security roles, and system compliance aligned with audit requirements

  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to super users and wider teams

  • Act as the primary contact for ERP vendors, support partners, and integration providers

  • Develop and maintain documentation, workflows, and process maps

  • Monitor and resolve system issues, coordinating root cause analysis with third parties

  • Support the development of interfaces with MES, shop floor data collection tools, and other automotive systems

  • Contribute to digital transformation projects that modernise manufacturing and supply chain operations

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience managing an ERP system in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive

  • Strong understanding of production planning, MRP, BOM management, quality processes, and supply chain operations

  • Hands-on experience with system configuration, workflow setup, and user administration

  • Knowledge of ERP platforms common in manufacturing such as Epicor, IFS, Infor, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics

  • Confident analysing complex issues and translating business needs into system solutions

  • Good working knowledge of data structures, reporting, and integration principles

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels
